Atelier V&A Featured by Tatler Asia’s Space Makers

“We wanted to create a space where design feels lived, layered and emotional — not overly polished or disconnected from people.”

Being featured by Tatler Asia as part of their Space Makers series marks an exciting moment for Atelier V&A and the direction we are building in Singapore.

From the beginning, Atelier V&A was never intended to sit neatly within one category. It was designed as a creative playground where interiors, collectible design, craftsmanship, restoration, florals, objects and storytelling could exist together.

The feature explores how founders Aisha Hillary-Morgan and Venetia Gu are shaping a studio that blends materiality, culture and emotion through furniture, spatial design and curated experiences.

“Atelier V&A sits somewhere between a gallery, design studio and evolving creative home.”

The article also touches on the growing appetite for more original, locally connected design voices within Singapore — something deeply important to the studio’s vision.

Rather than chasing trends, Atelier V&A focuses on creating pieces and spaces with longevity. Sculptural forms, layered textures, restored materials and custom details are all approached with the belief that design should create feeling, memory and conversation.

“We are less interested in perfection and more interested in spaces with soul, tension and personality.”

The Tatler feature highlights the showroom’s evolving identity — from collectible furniture and sculptural florals to material experimentation and collaborations with artists, makers and designers across the region.

It also reinforces the studio’s broader ambition: helping position Singapore as a destination for craftsmanship, creative experimentation and thoughtful contemporary design.

“A home should feel collected over time — not simply styled.”

As Atelier V&A continues to grow, the focus remains the same:
to create work that feels emotionally connected, materially rich and culturally layered.
