At Atelier V&A, we believe the most sustainable piece of furniture is often the one that already exists.

Relove is our approach to restoring, reimagining and giving existing furniture another chapter.

A chair with history. A table that no longer quite works. A vintage find with incredible bones. A piece you love but would never choose today.

Before replacing it, we ask:

What is worth keeping and what could it become?

WHAT COULD IT BECOME?

Sometimes Relove means carefully restoring a piece and respecting everything that made it special in the first place.

Sometimes it means new upholstery, a different finish or adapting the proportions or function.

And sometimes we take the elements worth keeping and create something completely unexpected.

We work with skilled craftspeople to understand the piece, preserve what matters and find the balance between its past and how you want to live with it now.

Old does not mean obsolete.

Sometimes it just needs someone to see what it could become.

RELOVE STORIES

Every piece starts somewhere different.

We have restored sentimental furniture that has travelled through families and across countries, sourced vintage pieces locally and given them a new life and completely reimagined existing furniture to suit a new home, function or personality.

For one client, five sentimental pieces were restored and adapted rather than replaced, retaining their original timber, craftsmanship and history while making them relevant to the way she lives today.
