Our WHY: Notes from Our Atelier

When we first started dreaming up Atelier V&A, it came from a very real gap we noticed while working on our interior projects.

On one side, there were the galleries — offering rare, beautiful, sculptural pieces. They were inspiring, but often untouchable. They sat outside the budgets we were allocated, and while extraordinary, they felt removed from the everyday.

On the other side was retail — accessible and functional, but often lacking the depth, craft, and uniqueness we craved. Pieces that worked in a room but didn’t quite tell a story or spark emotion.

What we were searching for was something in between.

A space where design could be sculptural and functional.
A place to prototype and play with clients — to test textures, carve forms, and see ideas evolve in real time.

A collection that could be beautiful, lived with and accessible.

That search led us here, to Atelier V&A.

Introducing Atelier One

Out of this desire came Atelier One, our first collection of sculptural furniture. Each piece is designed to be playful yet purposeful, with forms that feel expressive and considered, and details that invite touch.

We designed it here in Singapore and collaborated with local artisans to bring it to life — a journey that has been as rewarding as it has been experimental. From playful spheres that double as handbag rests, to consoles with carved angles that echo heritage tiles, every detail is intentional.

Filling the Gap

Atelier V&A is more than a showroom. It’s our attempt to bridge that gap between gallery and retail — between beauty and utility, story and space. We want to create a place where people can experience design in motion, where furniture is not just placed in a room but becomes part of a narrative.

It’s also about accessibility. We believe sculptural design doesn’t have to remain on a pedestal. It can be touched, used and lived with every day.

Opening the Doors

This Friday, we open the doors to Atelier V&A for the very first time. For us, it’s more than a launch — it’s the start of a conversation with the design community in Singapore and beyond.

We can’t wait to welcome you in.
