60 Lights, One Future — Lighting Brighter Paths Through Design, Compassion and Community

Atelier V&A was honoured to join 60 Lights, One Future, a collective initiative of 60 individuals and organisations supporting youths from under-resourced backgrounds through the Singapore Red Cross Young Hearts Programme.

This movement called together creatives, families and community partners — each committing to raise $6,000 to support one child’s year of education, mentorship, enrichment and care. The campaign has raised over $468,500 and demonstrates how shared stories of giving can come together to create collective impact.

For us at Atelier V&A, design has always been about connection, purpose and human experience. When we were invited to be part of this campaign, it resonated with how we think about our work: that design is more than aesthetics, it’s a way to spark curiosity, create belonging and uplift others.

The Young Hearts Programme focuses on three pillars: education (tuition and learning resources), enrichment (skills like digital literacy) and excursions (new experiences to expand horizons). By supporting these areas, the initiative aims to provide children from challenging environments with both practical tools and nurturing guidance to help them thrive.

60 Lights, One Future is about weaving meaningful impact into the work we do, reminding us that small actions, grounded in intention and community spirit, build into something far greater.

Design with purpose.

Impact with humility.

A future where every child feels seen, supported and inspired, this is the light we hope to share.

In a+ Singapore’s feature on 60 Lights, One Future, the article highlights how this community-driven initiative, organised by Peace of Art and in support of the Singapore Red Cross Young Hearts programme, brings together 60 individuals, families, creatives and organisations, each raising funds to support a child from an underprivileged background through education, enrichment and mentorship.

The piece explores why participants like us at Atelier V&A were drawn to the cause, emphasising the belief that design and creativity can carry purpose and compassion beyond aesthetics.

Through reflections, the article also delves into how giving shapes both personal values and professional work and what long-term impact contributors hope their support will have on young lives and the community at large.

“Design, at its core, is about connection and functionality. Everything we create must serve a purpose, whether it is to bring beauty into a space, spark emotion, or make life a little more meaningful. When we first heard about “60 Lights, One Future”, it felt like an extension of that belief that beauty and purpose should coexist. Creating something with our hands that can spark hope for a child is deeply personal. We wanted to show that design can go beyond aesthetics; it can be a vessel for compassion and community.” Aisha Hillary-Morgan & Venetia Gu.
